Sleeping in the middle of the forest??||open

[Ash Lightning]

<sub>Ash knew something was wrong after the first minute Yumi was under the water. He sucked as much air into his lungs as he could, and dove in. He was surprisingly fast; nearly as fast under the water as he was above it, or so it seemed.

He fallowed the wake in the water, still left over from the dragon. His dark eyes searched the water, and he picked up Yumi's shape, just floating there. He rocketed to her, grabbed her limp form, and shot for the surface. He didn't know how long she had been under the water before he found her, but Ash knew she needed air, and fast. He broke teh surface and swap to the shore, where he started sending small shocks through her body to wake her up.</sub>

[Yumi]

Though Yumi was unconscious she could sense that something was touching her body and moving it. As soon as they reached the surface her skin instantly had a cool feeling, almost like the one you get when you put alcohol on your skin. Her face was beginning to turn a purplish color and her lips a light shade of blue. Her lungs had filled partially with water, almost causing her to drown. If she hadn't been pulled out of the water she would be dead by now.

The small jolts of electricity were felt through out her body. Her subconscious was telling her to wake-up or else you'd die. Not in the sense that her body was shutting down, but in the sense that she was being attacked. Slowly but steadily Yumi coughed up water that had filled her lungs. Cough Cough Coughwas all that was heard besides the rippling of the water and crickets.

Her eyes opened in tiny little slits. She could see the dark purple night sky that was dotted with glimmering white dots and and bright white orb. There was a shadow hoovering over her. Who could that have been. She thought about it for a moment and then she remembered everything.

She had been the stupid one to stay on the dragon after it had submerged in the water. She was the one who didn't swim back to the surface for oxygen. She was the one who had been in distress all day. As her eyes opened they looked upset, not at anyone but herself though. She tried to sit up but failed. Why didn't she get off that dragon? Ash would probably say something about it now. She didn't want to look him in the eyes and get the I-told-you-so-look so she diverted her attention to the water.

"So dumb..."She whispered to herself in a raspy voice.

There was something new in his voice that was hard to place. Not even Ash could name it, but he may have been able to with a small time to think. He sat back from Yumi and tried to think about what was going through her mind to make her stay on the dragon.

[Yumi]

Be happy you are alive. An oh-so-familiar voice said to her.

And she was. She was extremely happy that she was alive. But she was just angry that she hadn't thought to get off of the back of the dragon earlier. Then maybe she wouldn't have to be in this current situation. She waited several moments until she tried to sit up again. But once again she failed.

Oh Kami was she a damsel in distress today or what? This day was going from bad to worse for her. She would have to apologize for the dragon incident. Or at least she thought so. Yumi didn't like apologizing that much seeing as she was very stubborn about things and her demeanor shows it.

You alright?

Yeah she was all right! Even though she just got killed by an odd creature and nearly drowned, but other than that she was just peachy.[/sarcasm] No she wasn't alright, she had nearly died more than two times today. That's not good at all!

"You could say that....Say can you help me sit up?"Yumi asked Ash. In the distance you could see the water splash as the dragon began to resurface. It held the creature in its mouth in victory. What was that creature? It was so big. The dragon came closer and closer to shore with whatever the creature was in it's mouth.

<sub>Ash knelt down next to Yumi and placed his right arm under her neck and back, helping her sit up. He mostly ignored the creature, except for its distinct swimming sound. It sounded like it had something in its mouth. If he wasn't sure Yumi was in his arms, he would make an effort to see what was in its mouth.

What was going through your head to make you stay under the water? I cant see you doing something like that so easily...</sub>

[Yumi]

Yumi was relieved that she was getting to sit up. Laying down isn't a favorite of hers unless she was going to sleep. She inhaled a deep breath, which happened to hurt very much, relieved of all the aches that the ground was causing her. She looked up at Ash who looked like he was wanting to see what kind of creature Fluffy had caught. Yumi had wondered what type it was too. She had never seen one like it before. It was almost an ancient looking thing. The creature was long like a fish, but it didn't look like one. She would have to wait until it came closer to her.

What was going through your head to make you stay under the water? I cant see you doing something like that so easily...

Yumi shook her head, not focusing on the dragon and what he had caught anymore. What had made her do something like that...hmm. She sighed for a little bit before even saying anything. She didn't really want to say, but maybe she could get to the bottom of what was bothering Ash by sharing what she had to say.

"I was still mad at you for not saying what had been bothering you. If you were to implode it wouldn't be a good thing and I don't want that to happen to anyone I know again. I was concerned about your well being that I didn't focus on my own. I thought I could stay underwater longer than that, but I guess I couldn't. I just wasn't focused on breathing or getting away." She said in one deep breath.

Yumi hoped that he would share what had been bothering him. She was very curious seeing as she usually knew a lot of things. She wanted to help Ash out. It was of her nature.

Ash smiled slightly, bit his eyes didn't show it. He could tell that Yumi cared for him, but he wouldn't reveal his history, not even to himself. He left it behind him, and he was focused on keeping it that way.</sub>

Ash said.

Yumi had to stop herself from rolling her eyes and folding her arms. Feh! What is it with men and keeping things to themselves.She thought to herself. But then she thought...well he didn't know her all to well maybe that's why. She let out a light sigh and looked over to the lake. The dragon had come to shore again. And she'd got to look closer at that creature.

"Ash-san do you know what that creature happens to be,"Yumi said diverting the conversation.

[Ash Lightning]

<sub>Ash looked to the dragon, which was now on land. His eyes narrowed humanlike, as if too see in the darkness. He could see perfectly, though, and he got a good look at what was in the dragons mouth.

It looks like a large snake or fish. Its hard to see at this angle.

Indeed it was. Ash was looking over his shoulder to the dragon.</sub>

[Yumi]

She raised her brown. A large snake or fish? There weren't that many of those around anymore unless they were demons. The ground shook as Fluffly set the large whatever it was down. That creature was wrecking her nerves. She felt very uneasy around it. Like it was going to come back to life or something. Yumi scooted her body back away.

"A snake...?"

[Ash Lightning]

<sub>Or a fish. Like I said, it shard to see from here.

Ash felt Yumi move against his body, and he slid with her, helping her get away from the dragon and whatever prey it had. He shook his head slightly, shaking water from his hair, but getting some more on Yumi, but she was wetter than he was, thanks to her hair.</sub>

Yumi was glad that Ash had moved back with her because if not she would have fell. That would have been bad on her part seeing as her lungs are partially collapsed. She shuddered as Ash swung the water out of his hair and some got on to her. Yumi was still extremely wet, and since it was night it was very cold to her.

The dragon, Fluffy, set down the creature and as soon as it did the creature flickered on the ground. Her fear rose beyond anything. It started moving from side to side, away from the dragon. Fluffly chased after it, but to no avail. He was too slow for it. It was headed towards Ash and Yumi. She tried to reach for her arrows, but they were no where in sight. She sighed Ash would have to save her once again. She hated being the damsel in distress.

[Ash Lightning]

<sub>Ash sighed slightly and whipped his arm out, sending his chain-bone on his right arm at the snake-like creature, but instead of slashing it, it grabbed and whipped the creature over the dragon, before slicing its head in half. He let his arm drift back to meet his other around Yumi.

You have a habit of attracting danger, don't you. With you going to a village before me, I could make a fortune with all the demons going for you.

He laughed slightly at his bad joke.</sub>

She glared slightly. Yumi didn't usually cause this much trouble, but today was a just a bad day for her. First she falls asleep in the middle of the forest. Then a bug demon attacks, and then there's a dragon who nearly kills her by drowning her, and then this odd creature almost attacks her in her already weakened state. Jeez what was it with the demons today? They were might feisty and that wasn't a good thing. Who had caused the disturbance in the already chaotic world? Yumi sighed things were not looking to the bright side.

"Ha ha ha...very funny,"She said sarcasm dripping on her voice.

Ash leaned back, arms behind his head. A slight smile was upon his face as he looked at the sky again. He was finally a little more at ease now that there wasn't as much to worry about, but for him, at ease meant that he didn't need to move around very much. He was still on his toes, so to speak.</sub>
