Ash looked at Yumi, noticed her tears, and looked away quickly. He didn't work well with crying. Its nice to meat you, Yumi. Ash smiled slightly, but it left his face as quickly as it came to it. Humans were odd creatures, and they made Ash think more like a human.
It was like a double bladed sword; Ash liked to think like humans, but he didn't want to have a strong connection to them. It was an odd feeling that couldn't be brought into words. He looked away, dark eyes hooded by his hair. Human thoughts rushed throughout his head, but his face remained passive. [/sub]

She watched as Ash turned his face from her. Had she done something wrong? She wiped the tears from her eyes, as he told her it was nice to meet her. "It was nice to meet you to,"Yumi's voice trailed off. She was curious as to what Ash was thinking.
"Ash-san...I thank you for you kindness. Thank you for saving me earlier,She said bowing very low showing much respect for him. OOC;sorry for the sucky post.

Think nothing of it. Just be glad that I was in the area and you can live to see another day. And there is no need to bow to me, Yumi. Ash smiled again, and it touched his eyes, almost making them glow. He seemed more peaceful now.
So, what were you doing in the forest, besides sleeping? Most people out here have a protected home nearby, are slay demons. You don't seem much like either. Ash's bluntness was coming out now that he was more relaxed and at ease. [/sub]

Yumi stood up after Ash had finished speaking. She put her hair back into place and then began to speak. "Oh but Ash-san that is why I need to bow to you. You saved my life and that's a big part in my book and deserves respect."Yumi stated ending that part of their conversation. The breeze was blowing gently and it was rather calming to her.
'So, what were you doing in the forest, besides sleeping? Most people out here have a protected home nearby, are slay demons. You don't seem much like either.'. Well...what was she doing in the forest besides sleeping? Oh that's right she was going to the lake because she heard it was calming. Yumi didn't have a permanant home and only housed with those who allowed her. "You see. I had just finished helping a village rid it of its demon problem, and that task was very tedious. I was on my way to the lake so I could have some relaxation time.

[/b] Ash smiled again, his eyes lighting up again. It was a simple offer; he was heading that way anyway. If we are lucky, you can get there by dark, so long as we aren't attack. There was always that single attack that caused delay. The wind tossed Ash's black hair around slightly, and Ash's light arm armor creaked slightly as they walked, but it was just another instrument in the symphony that was going on around them.[/center][/sub]

Yumi nodded her head whilst he was speaking. She was not being wise and instead of using her powers she was just being trustworthy of the forest. As a matter of fact she was probably to tired to actually use them. The work from the village was tedious enough.
"I would love it if you took me to the lake Ash-san"Yumi said with a huge smile plastered on her face.Soon her face went expressionless as there was nothing else to be said.

And stop it with the San stiff; its just Ash. Ash laughed. He couldn't help not to. He wasn't into that stuff; not after what he had been through and what was left in his life. San just added more connection to people, and he hurt people. He didn't want that. Already, he was becoming attached to people again, specifically this human. In his head, he put up a block from her.
He didn't want to risk hurting her anymore than he had to. He would probably just leave sometime in the night when she was safe, and that would be the end of that. He just hoped that she didn't feel the distance enlongate between them, because he didn't want to answer questions as too why he did what he did. [/sub]

'And stop it with the San stuff; its just Ash'he told her. She was not used to addressing people by their common names. She always wanted to show the utmost respect for some one who did things for her. Yumi only nodded at this. It would be tough for her not to add the suffix -san.
She continued to walk silently until she heard heavy footsteps behind them. They were speedy like they were running. Yumi turned her head slightly to see what was chasing them. Off in the distance she could see a bear like figure running their way. She hadn't noticed it until now, but it's aura was masked.
"Ash-sss...there's a bear demon behind us."She said stopping herself from saying -san. If she wasn't in such a weak state she would have been able to at least handicapped it for a few moments until she took care of it.

Not for long. Ash turned around, the bear getting closer. He sniffed the air, and smiled. Ash settled into a relaxed position. He watched the bear, up until a small one came out of the woods. It was just a normal bear.
Well, that was easy. It was just a mother bear getting to its child. But we do have some company, and it is not a bear. Don't move until I say so. Ash spoke the last part quietly. Directly behind Yumi was a rather large bug demon. It hid in the forest quite well, but Ash was able to pick it up easy. Ash made sure that his voice was quiet when he spoke.
Count to 10, the roll to the left. Don't do anything before you finish. In all truth, Ash wanted that delay to make himself look human, and to close his mind to the outside. In his head, he counted down. [/sub]

Well, that was easy. It was just a mother bear getting to its child. But we do have some company, and it is not a bear. Don't move until I say so. Ash commanded her very quietly. She was relived that it was only a normal bear, but what could the other demon be? She wasn’t very familiar with these parts of the country at all. Yumi was very curious as to what type of demon it was. Maybe when she rolled to the left she could use the little bit of energy she had left…or maybe she wouldn’t roll left after all. 1…2…3…4..5…6…7…8…9…10Yumi counted silently and when she got to 10 she jumped into a tree limb. She focused for a few seconds until she could scout out the aura of the demon. It was a large demon, but not too strong. The demon wasn’t far off at all; in fact it was approaching at a very face pace.
Soon the demon revealed itself. It was an ugly large beetle demon. It was red with a few spots on it almost like a lady bug, but different. She knew its exterior shell would be tough to get to so maybe she could soften it up a bit for ash. She reached for an arrow that she had stowed in a hidden slot on her leg. Her arrow was aimed with expertise and she waited about five seconds until the demon got close enough. Her arrow shot through the air using the last bit of her spiritual powers hitting the shell of the demon.

Ash jumped and rolled left, and came up fast. As soon as Yumi launched her arrow, he shot a bold of lightning from his fingertips, and hit the same spot at the same time as Yumi, and blew the shell apart. The demon was stunned by the attacks, and didn't stand even close to surviving Ash's duel chain slash; one on fire, and one with electricity coursing through it. In seconds, the demon was nothing but fried meat. In a flash, Ash was by Yumi in case she fell.
Good job, but you didn't need to use up your energy for something like that... Thanks. Ash smiled again, but it only just touched his eyes. The smile itself was small, almost undeserving to be on his face. [/sub]

It was a habit that she had obtained over the years. Working herself hard until she was completely drained of energy and then passing out somewhere. If she hadn't been nestled tightly in the branches she would have fallen out of the tree by now.
"I wanted to help,"Yumi said breathing in short spurts of breath.
Maintaining her stance up in the tree was also draining every ounce of energy she had. Maybe if she were lucky she wouldn't fall through the branches and hit the ground. Yumi closed her eyes for several moments.

Ash picked up Yumi and leaped lightly from the tree to the ground, and carried her as he walked. You didn't need to. Ash repeated. It was a small-time demon, no trouble at all.
Ash's left arm let off a dark aura pulse, and around where the chain-bones stuck out, flashed a red-orange color. The skin on his arm also turned darker. After a moment, everything returned to normal. That was a normal side effect of attacking with his left arm. Usually, he used his chain attacks with his right. He looked at Yumi in his arms again. [/sun]

Yumi felt her body being picked up. Ash must have been carrying her. The wind calmed her when he jumped down from the tree. It was rather calming. The rocking of her body when he walked made her fall to sleep almost instantly.
She began to dream that she was a child again. It was a nice dream until her subconscious sensed a dark aura. Her dream soon turned into that awful nightmare that had tormented her earlier. She was at her village and everything caught on fire. Soon demons and bandits began to raid the village killing everyone in site. She hid and was the only one left. She was all alone again.
Yumi's body writhed and turned in Ash's arm. The nightmare made her face crinkle in distaste and several tears ran down her face once again. She woke abruptly from her nightmare.

It was dark when Yumi started moving around. By then, they were on the shore of a small lake, not the one she was probably thinking of. Ash set her on the ground when tears started streaming down her face, and he quickly lit up a fire, and held it just above the ground. He didn't want to leave Yumi alone with how she was right now. His unblinking eyes watched her until she finally woke up.
You alright? Ash didn't move from the log he was sitting on. To keep Yumi warm from the cold air and ground, he gave her his shirt, but it wasn't large nor thick, but it would keep her warm to some degree. You have been asleep for a long time. He frowned slightly, face dark due to the shadows of his hair blocking the floating fire. [/sub]
