Vorador glazes towards Yumi and Sango, and back to Kain. What the hell are you think.... Just before Vorador could finish, he senses a demon with a high reiatsu. Unsheathing his blade from his sheath. The blade looks fragile and about to break, muttering something under his breath. Senbonzakura. Vorador's sword enlarges only slightly, looking brand new. Chire One thousand blades that are so small they can not be seen, when those blades take flight the reflections of the light cause them to look like scattered cherry blossoms. The blades scatter and track drown the demon right behind the hut. The blades shred the demon to pieces. The blades return to Vorador and form his blade, and returns into it's sealed form.

The Soul Reaver returns back into it's sealed form before Kain can respond to Vorador. They picked a fight with me. i was merely defending my self. Watching the dead demon on the ground next to the hut all cut up and bleeding from every opening on it's body. Kain address Sango's question. We are Shingamies. In other words Death Gods.

"Death Gods?" I repeated, my breath heavy with disbelief. "I've never heard such thing."
I raised my boomerang as another youkai came by. When Hiraikotsu was high in the air, I released it, watching it soar to the youkai and cutting it to pieces. I caught the boomerang again, just when a horde of youkai burst out like a ball. It came like a tornado, and soon, I could not see the "Shinigamies".
But other than the youkai was a mist of miasma. There was a nasty odor and a nasty youki surrounding the area. Soon, the entire village was covered in purple mists! I quickly pulled on a mask just in case there was poison in the odor.
To my right, a youkai tried to hack at my shoulder, which I slashed through with my katana. Another blow to my left came, and I blocked it with my Hiraikotsu. I slashed through the youkai on the left as well, while searching the place for Yumi and the others.

Yumi watched as these two strangers talked to each other. One seemed like he was in a higher position than the other. This situation seemed mighty odd. She didn't know what she should do about this. Maybe they would ban together and attack or something.
We are Shingamies. In other words Death Gods. Yumi had heard of that once before but never thought she would meet one. They didn't seem very nice at all like she thought they were going to be. Her eyes glanced over to Sango who looked very surprised at all of this. A cloud of miasma dispersed in the area filling it with poison and smoke. She quickly covered her face and ran away from the surface.

You dammed idiot their not suppose to know that. Vorador turns towards Sango to see that a bunch of youki are making their attack. Vice-Captain kain do your job. Vorador just sits back and watch as the humans fight off a bunch of demons. Vorador takes a seat on the ground next to Kain and closed his eyes to determine where the youki were coming form. All of a sudden Vorador could feel and large burst of reiatsue flow through the area. Vorador sprang to his feet and headed for the exit. Humans stay here, I'll be back. Now don't get yourself killed. Vorador walks casually out of the town and towards the location of the reiatsue.

My Pleasure. Howl Zambumu. Once again Kain unleashes his sword and lashes out at the youki behind the humans, in a whip motion. Cutting through each of the youki, Kain retracts Zambumu back to him, and seals his sword back. Well that was disappointing. And yes as Vorador had said, my temper can get he better of me, so I apologize for the attack, but their is one thing that does bother me. Back when I started to retreat, your friend, the one that changes form, obviously dose not understand the concept of surrender.

I gritted my teeth as the youki spread farther and farther, and became thicker. The purple miasma was so thick, even I was getting dizzy though I was wearing a mask! To my left (I think), I heard the sound of footsteps rushing away from the surface. Before the footsteps faded, and the miasma covered the footprints, I could tell it was Yumi. She didn't have a mask like me, I thought as I heard a person speaking. The other guy had called him Kain.
"My pleasure. Howl, Zambumu," he growled and unleashed his strange sword again. It cut through the youki with a snake like movement then retracted back to him. It grew back to normal again, and he said, "Well that was disappointing. And yes, as Vorador had said, my temper can get the better of me, so I apologize for the attack, but there is one thing that does bother me. Back when I started to retreat, your friend, the one that changes form obviously does not understand the concept of surrender."
He seemed to say this all with one breath. But I smirked behind my mask and furrowed my eyebrows. "Well, if you think about it, you were quite late in apologizing." I eyed the shape of his sword as the youki began to gradually fall back down. "I've never seen a sword like that. Do all Shinigamis have such thing?"
And here I thought Shinigamis ate souls. Who was this guy???

In answer to Sango's question, Kain replies. Each Shinigami has their own unique zanpakutou, and it reflects the owner's personality and power. The Zanpakutou has two levels of release - Shi-kai (Initial Release) and Ban-kai (Ban release) which will increase the user's attack power. But in order to do so, they must learn the Zanpakutou's name and gain its cooperation. Seeing the purple gasses Kain unleashes a spell to ward him and Sango. Bakudou 75: Gochuu Tekan. The spell creates a shield around Kain, Sango and Yumi to protect them from the gasses.

Hmmm...
Where had I heard this "Shinigami" thing before?
The man looked at me with a face that meant "what???" and said, "Each Shinigami has their own unique zanpakutou, and it reflects the owner's personality and power. The Zanpakutou has two levels of release - Shi-kai (Initial Release) and Ban-kai (Ban release) which will increase the user's attack power. But in order to do so, they must learn the Zanpakutou's name and gain its cooperation," he explained. I gave him a weak smile as I digested all this in.
Nowhere obviously. Either this guy was nuts, or I was. Then suddenly, the man unleashed a spell. He murmured something like, "Bakudou 75: Gochuu Tekkan," and suddenly a shield surround around me and Yumi. I was amazed at this source of power, and took off my mask to see if it worked. It worked better than better all right. Then I turned to him and asked him for his name.
"Well, Shinigami-sama, what's your name? I'm Sango," I said, trying to sound as friendly as possible. It wouldn't be a great idea to tick the guys there off.

I believe that you deserve to at least know the name that I am called by. Kain bows as a sign of respect to Sango. I go by the name Kala-cha 6th division vice-captain of the 13 protection squads. The meaning to my name is shard-bearer given to me by an enemy that even to I is unknown. Kain sheathes his sword. Pardon me, but I have a question to ask you. Kain takes out a shard from his pocket. As the air touches the shard, it begins to glow a deep purple hue. Do you know of anyone else that me assist me in finding the reaming shards. To my knowledge their should be 100 of them.

The man bowed to me as a sign of respect, which I took to be. Then he opened his mouth to say, "I believe that you deserve to at least know the name that I am called by. I go by the name Kala-cha 6th Division Vice-Captain of the 13 Protection Squads. The meaning to my name is "Shard-bearer" given to me by an enemy that even to I is unknown."
Then he slid his sword back into his sheath and returned his attention to me, while pulling out a shard from his pocket. When the oxygen touched the smooth texture, it began to shimmer with a purple color, resembling a tainted shard of the Shikon no Tama. Even though I could not sense it, and tell if it was real or not, I knew at once that was it. There was no other shard that I knew of would shine with such... aura.
"Do you know of anyone else that might assist me in finding the remaining shards? To my knowledge, there should be 100 of them."
I shook my head. Half of his "knowledge" was right. It was right that there were about 100 shards to complete the Shikon no Tama, but most of them were in Naraku's clutches. And since it was deep purple, he would've been long tainted ago... I didn't know what to believe. Was this the same shard, piece of a jewel that started this curse? Or was it simply a shard of something else?
"I think we could be searching for the same thing, except..." I held a finger up my teeth and pondered. "If I'm not mistaken, my enemy has all of the other shards already. Unless... what is that shard anyway? I mean, if its the same thing we could go together and find the other 99."

Raziel reaches the demon slayer village, where Moebius told him Kain would be waiting. Raziel pauses briefly, struck by the pristine beauty of the village. In this era, the Village remains pristine and uncorrupted.
Raziel V.O.: The village of the legendary demon slayers... pristine, whole and uncorrupted. I had never beheld them in this undefiled state - yet something profound and indelible resonated within me at the sight. (then, seeing Kain) And there, waiting at the very heart of the village, was the canker.
Kain stands in the center of the village in front of Sango, his back to the clearing's entrance. He appears to be surveying the village calmly, waiting for something. Raziel stalks up behind Kain, readying the wraith-blade. Completely aware and composed, Kain addresses Raziel without turning.
Kain: I know you are there, Raziel.
Raziel: Moebius led me to you, Kain, although I might have guessed you'd meet me here.
Kain continues to speak with his back to Raziel, turning his head only slightly.
Kain: And if Moebius told you I was hidden on the underside of hell, would you throw yourself into oblivion to pursue me? Moebius trawls for the ignorant and unwary, hauling his gasping prey from the streams of their destinies. Stay out of his net, Raziel -
Raziel interrupts, impatient and tired of this long chase.
Raziel: Spare me your elaborate metaphors, Kain. I have pursued you here for one purpose - you will pay for your betrayal, and Balance will thus be restored to Nosgoth. Kain: And whose will is satisfied then, the will of Raziel, or Moebius? Raziel: Would I be better manipulated by you, Kain? Now turn and face me; the chase is over. Kain then turns his attention back to Sango. Kain: I apologize for this, but you need to listen to this. This isn't a chase, Raziel - we are merely passengers on the wheel of destiny, describing a perfect circle to this point. We have been brought here for a reason. I have seen the beginning and the end of our story, however - and the tale is crude and ill-conceived. We must rewrite the ending of it, you and I. Raziel: (frustrated) Face me, Kain. Even you shouldn't die a coward's death.
Kain finally turns to respond, having delayed Raziel as long as he needed.
Kain: Isn't it customary to grant the condemned a final request?
Raziel: I recall no such courtesy from you.
Kain: Indulge me, Raziel. All I ask is that you listen.
At this moment, an unearthly, disembodied wailing begins to be audible, increasing in volume as it fills the clearing.
Kain: This is the sublime moment of our undoing, Raziel - the ineffable fulcrum upon which swings the entirety of our history. This is where all of Nosgoth is betrayed. In this instant, Ariel - the Balance Guardian - is murdered by dark forces bent on overthrowing the Pillars. Her spirit is just now tearing free, lost in the ether, trying to find its way here. You have already seen how she comes to haunt these Pillars - Raziel: (interrupting) - bound here by your refusal to die. You are the reason this land becomes diseased - as long as you remain alive you condemn Nosgoth to an eternity of decay.
Kain gently raises his hand to silence Raziel, and intently urges him -
Kain: Be still, Raziel. See this.
The sky darkens, the wind begins to gust, and birds scatter from the clearing in alarm. A low, nearly sub-audible rumble swells, as though a massive storm is gathering. Kain continues with some urgency -
Kain: As Ariel dies, I am being born to take her place as Balance Guardian. Such is my destiny.
Suddenly the entire clearing is rocked by an indescribable force - A telepathic blast burns across the landscape with a thunderous rumble, and distorting waves of energy ripple across the clearing. Kain visibly tenses as he absorbs the onslaught of this psychic attack.
As the telepathic assault recedes, Kain begins to speak again -
Kain: At the moment of my first cry, Ariel's beloved - the Guardian Nupraptor - finds her corpse. Wracked with grief and tormented with suspicions of treachery, Nupraptor plunges into a madness which overflows and infects all of the Guardians, who are symbiotically bound. Including me. The repercussions of Ariel's assassination were expertly calculated... The entire Circle descends into madness, and I am tainted at the moment of my birth - instantly rendered incapable of fulfilling the role destiny has prepared for me.
Raziel: Shall I show you the same mercy you showed the rest of the Circle, then? You blithely murdered them to restore their Pillars, yet your hand faltered when it came to the final sacrifice. What makes you exempt, Kain? You're merely the last man standing. Why condemn me for simply carrying out what you hadn't the courage to do yourself?
Kain: Let's drop the moral posturing, shall we? We both know there's no altruism in this pursuit. Your reckless indignation led you here - I counted on it.
Kain sees that Raziel is bristling at this insult.
Kain: There's no shame in it, Raziel - revenge is motivation enough. At least it's honest. Hate me, but do it honestly.
Kain resumes his account of Nosgoth's history -
Kain: Thirty years hence, I am presented with a dilemma - let's call it a two-sided coin. If the coin falls one way, I sacrifice myself and thus restore the Pillars. But as the last surviving vampire in Nosgoth, this would mean the annihilation of our species. Moebius made sure of that. If the coin lands on the reverse, I refuse the sacrifice and thus doom the Pillars to an eternity of collapse. Either way, the game is rigged.
Raziel: We agree then that the Pillars are crucial, and must be restored?
Kain: Yes, Raziel - that's why we've come full-circle to this place.
Raziel: So after all this, you make my case for me. To end this stalemate you must die so that new Guardians can be born.
Kain: The Pillars don't belong to them, Raziel...
Kain gestures derisively, indicating humanity in general.
Kain: ...They belong to us.
Raziel: (disgusted) Your arrogance is boundless, Kain.
Kain: (laughing softly) There's a third option - a monumental secret, hidden in your very presence here. But it's a secret you have to discover for yourself. Unearth your destiny, Raziel. It's all laid out for you here.
Raziel: You said it yourself, Kain - there are only two sides to your coin.
Kain: Apparently so. But suppose you throw a coin enough times... ...suppose one day, it lands on its edge.
